Breathe

I have been doing some reflections lately in my life and I came across many things that I've discovered and would like to share some of them with you.  We get stuck in labels . She is strong. He is funny. She is positive. You get my point. These labels manifest in our heads and we start believing that this is what you always need to project, this is how people see me and this is how I should always be. But this is not true. I am the strongest girl I know this month and the weakest one around the next. I have the cool sense of humor and the next day I can not get a joke.  We need to stop getting stuck in boxes. This causes us to put so much pressure on ourselves and it is unhealthy. Be whoever the hell you wake up wanting to be. No pressure. No label. Find a fixation . Find something that you can do, a car ride, a place you can sit, writing, drawing, dancing, yoga, singing in the shower. Find something that you can go to when everything else doesn't make sense (this h...

Recipe For a Good Life

Muhammad Ali’s story meant a lot for me - beyond the boxing he spent a lifetime preparing to meet God, and was dedicated to a path of Tassawuf, to the inward path of Love. He believed that the secret of God is revealed through the knowledge of Love. Ali strived to become a truly beautiful human being; following the Tassawuf wisdom that ‘The outer beauty of a person must merge with the inner beaut y and become one. This is the source of true beauty.’ He was most certainly such a human being, and was once asked: “What would you like people to think about you when you’re gone?”. He responded that he would like people to say: ‘He took a few cups of love. He took one table spoon of patience. One table spoon, tea-spoon of generosity. One pint of kindness. He took one quart of laughter. One pinch of concern. And then he mixed willingness with happiness. He added lots of faith. And he stirred it up well. Then he spread it over a span of a lifetime. And he served it to each and every deservi...

The unexpected 10th - Last minute package

As random as it can get.. She had the most random thing that can happen to her since a long time and she can't grasp the idea how it even could happen. It's not her usual attitude towards life... On one of those normal days, it's almost noon, just few hours before the weekend to finally start. That one young lady had a very long busy week and it's almost coming to an end. Yet there are still some errands that still need to be done. It's a sunny and warm day. The Skye is purely clear blue and the metro is less crowded just few hours before the rush hour.  She wanted to make this mission during early April and some reasons she forgot and life hectic took over. She is about to miss the deadline.  But she seems she didn't care much. However the nearer we get to the day of the deadline she freaks out, it might be her only last chance so thought she, neither can’t she figure out what can be done next if that plan didn’t verve as it’s planed. She is running la...

‘Shut Up Your Mouse Obama’ can only represent Persistence and Bravery!

Image
If you are an Egyptian or living in Egypt, you probably came across this statement:  “Listen your Obama, we are Egyptian women. You are, listen Obama, Shut up your mouse, shut up your mouse Obama! Sisi, yes, Sisi, yes. Morsi, no, Morsi, no.”   If you never heard of it you can watch this video to have a clearer overview: Mona Al- Beheiri, an Egyptian underprivileged woman  expresses her dissent, in a broken poor English and heavy Egyptian accent during the presidential elections in early 2014. Many people started to mock her on her poor English more over some folks believe she reflects the image of an uneducated and ignorant Egyptian women. Few days ago she appeared in the Arabs Got Talent Show for approximately 30 seconds and she was rejected. Some people say that someone made her turn up at that show, but that is not the problem. People left everything and started to feel ashamed and mocking her. Al- Beheiri is being used for chea...

The Power of Reading

Image
I have been reading in the past three hours and half and felt I want to write and reflect down before I go to bed.  I always feel when I read; I enter a different world that is filled with diversity of knowledge. It is a very big world that doesn’t have a beginning and an end. It’s a world that doesn’t require certain things from the human being. In fact it will offer you a wide range of knowledge; starting from wisdom, to science up to philosophy and history and she is not expecting anything in return. Once you set food in this world, you will enjoy the ride, because there is always something for everyone. Once one takeoff, there is no return. One will have to go by the flow in order to enjoy the journey. It’s the journey, you will get to experience it from the protagonist, and when you land and arrive safely, you will suddenly find yourself craving for some isolating time for yourself to reflect on your last ‪ trip . Once you feel you are settled do...

Give from Your Heart

As we are going into Friday and it is  one of my favorite days of the week. This day has a very special  place in my heart for some reasons. I always feel the silence and calmness of my heart. I feel god's blessings. Today I questioned myself, what about doing a good deed on such a beautiful day? Even if it’s a  small  thing. Sometimes we see things small, but in other peoples eyes it could mean the world. One of the greatest things any one of us can do in life is to reach out and do a good deed for another human being. Whether it means offering your love and compassion, or making a charitable donation of time, energy, or money, there are many ways to bring sunshine into the lives of others. Aiming to make someone smile and succeeding will ultimately make you happier than the comparatively abstract goal of trying to make them happy. Here are few things that I could think of now; how one could do a good deed? ·   ...

As we enter 2015..

Image
This is a great idea for collecting all the good and happy moments one pass by through out the year. It can be a thought that crossed your mind or a smile that took your breath away, a beautiful memory, a new experience that you gained in 2015 or just watching anything that made you feel happy.  If you start doing it now, you will end up appreciating your life :)

Duel

It feels as if words are stuck in my throat and my tongue is very closely cramped tied. My fingers have stopped craving… and my mind stopped thinking… I’m standing frozen! I thought it was a phase just for few days… But days followed weeks and weeks followed months and months followed year and year after year... And all of a sudden they became three years. I stopped writing for three years! It’s not that I didn’t have an idea to write about. In fact I had it all in my mind… But I wasn’t able to put them down. I wasn’t ready to fill these pages with what I feel. It was too much… Too much that you could actually feel how it was burning… It was too much to handle it… It wasn’t easy to dissect my heart and let it seep, flow down in feelings and emotions. My heart was set on fire! Nights and Mornings became all the same... to the point that you won’t be able to recognize the difference. There was no life. No soul. All you could hear was the voice of silence. You would wake up v...
