"إليك قول رجل مجرب قال: من غيرة الحق أن لم يجعل لأحد إليه طريقا، ولم يؤيس أحدا من الوصول إليه، وترك الخلق في مفاوز التحير يركضون، وفي بحار الظن يغرقون، فمن ظن أنه واصل فاصله، ومن ظن أنه فاصل تاه، فلا وصول ولا مهرب عنه، ولا بد منه." نجيب محفوظ - ليالى ألف ليلة

Adultery

Image
I just finished reading “ Adultery ” by Paulo Coelho . Honestly, I can't believe this is written by the same man who wrote one of my favorite novels. Utterly shocking and incredibly disappointing. I read the entire book, because I was waiting for it to get better, but it never happened. In this story, Coelho shows the monster, that resides in us to come up for revenge. Through the life of the main character, feelings of dissatisfaction and inadequacy come to surface... if her life is so perfect, surrounded by people she love and love her, has the perfect husband and children and successful in her work... why is she so unhappy? Because, deep down, she felt there must be something else to all that sense of the perfect life she was living... Letting the monster inside her to come out, is something forbidden, horrible, and dirty. But through the monster, she returns back from the forbidden adventure as a stronger woman, a better person, a renewed soul. From my point of...

The Power of Reading

Image
I have been reading in the past three hours and half and felt I want to write and reflect down before I go to bed.  I always feel when I read; I enter a different world that is filled with diversity of knowledge. It is a very big world that doesn’t have a beginning and an end. It’s a world that doesn’t require certain things from the human being. In fact it will offer you a wide range of knowledge; starting from wisdom, to science up to philosophy and history and she is not expecting anything in return. Once you set food in this world, you will enjoy the ride, because there is always something for everyone. Once one takeoff, there is no return. One will have to go by the flow in order to enjoy the journey. It’s the journey, you will get to experience it from the protagonist, and when you land and arrive safely, you will suddenly find yourself craving for some isolating time for yourself to reflect on your last ‪ trip . Once you feel you are settled do...

Tomorrow…

December 31, 2014  by  Paulo Coelho No one can go back, but everyone can go forward. And tomorrow, when the sun rises, all you have to say to yourselves is: I am going to think of this year as the first year of my life. I will look on the members of my family with surprise and amazement, glad to discover that they are by my side, silently sharing that much-talked-about, but little understood thing called love. I will pass a beggar, who will ask me for money. I might give it to him or I might walk past thinking that he will only spend it on drink, and as I do, I will hear his insults and know that it is simply his way of communicating with me. I will pass someone trying to destroy a bridge. I might try to stop him or I might realise that he is doing it because he has no one waiting for him on the other side and this is his way of trying to fend off his own loneliness. I will look at everything and everyone as if for the first time, especially the small things th...

Writing to you gives me company

I’m a globie girl that wants to explore as much as possible of the world and get do know more about different cultures. I was born to travel. (Will get to the travelling part later) I am from Cairo and have Turkish roots like most of Egyptians. I was born in Vienna, were I was raised and spent my teen - year’s. Vienna plays a big role in my life. If I started to talk about my love to this country, it’s a never-ending love story and I won’t finish today. - I need to finish because I still got a lot to do for today, maybe in another post -.  People who know me very well, know that I regard Egypt my country and my home, but not only because of my roots, family and friends who live there, but because I truthfully love it. There is something about Egypt and until this moment know one has figured out what is this “Something”. If you talked to any Egyptian who lived abroad especially in a not Middle Eastern country, he will understand what I’m saying. Unfortunately, Egyptians...

They Called It Tradition

Image
- Painful Tradition -    Most of us just live their lives and try to do the best out of it. Some of us struggles and fight with their parents in order to do and get what they want. In fact many of us are careless, egoistic and just think how to please them selves in the first place. We live in our own worlds and we do not know how other people live, we actually do not know that they exist, because we are full with our own problems, while they are nothing against people who do not have food to eat or water to survive. Where children start working at a very young age, because their parents are ill and someone has to bring money to the family. Girls who have to be circumcised in order to be able to marry ect ect ect. And we … what do we do? We always complain about everything instead of being thankful while others are not having half of what we have. Have you ever heard about a nomad’s life in Somalia ? Well let me tell you, they live under extremely poor conditions; their...
