Breathe

I have been doing some reflections lately in my life and I came across many things that I've discovered and would like to share some of them with you.  We get stuck in labels . She is strong. He is funny. She is positive. You get my point. These labels manifest in our heads and we start believing that this is what you always need to project, this is how people see me and this is how I should always be. But this is not true. I am the strongest girl I know this month and the weakest one around the next. I have the cool sense of humor and the next day I can not get a joke.  We need to stop getting stuck in boxes. This causes us to put so much pressure on ourselves and it is unhealthy. Be whoever the hell you wake up wanting to be. No pressure. No label. Find a fixation . Find something that you can do, a car ride, a place you can sit, writing, drawing, dancing, yoga, singing in the shower. Find something that you can go to when everything else doesn't make sense (this h...

The Power of Reading

Image
I have been reading in the past three hours and half and felt I want to write and reflect down before I go to bed.  I always feel when I read; I enter a different world that is filled with diversity of knowledge. It is a very big world that doesn’t have a beginning and an end. It’s a world that doesn’t require certain things from the human being. In fact it will offer you a wide range of knowledge; starting from wisdom, to science up to philosophy and history and she is not expecting anything in return. Once you set food in this world, you will enjoy the ride, because there is always something for everyone. Once one takeoff, there is no return. One will have to go by the flow in order to enjoy the journey. It’s the journey, you will get to experience it from the protagonist, and when you land and arrive safely, you will suddenly find yourself craving for some isolating time for yourself to reflect on your last ‪ trip . Once you feel you are settled do...

Reflection

Lately I have been having this graving feeling that I want to write but I don’t know about what. I want to write something. Something epic and heroic, b ut I’m not sure what something that may be.  And as you can see there is something missing, I'm lacking a topic, story, and timeline. Sometimes I find my thoughts and ideas are contrasting and disarranged. My problem is that I’m interested in too many things. And usually these things differ from one another. It seems that I can’t find any compatible pattern among my interests. I believe that once I find my core essence I’ll be able to have settled pure texture in my writings and that is when I find out the purpose of my life. What I’m sure of, whatever I will end up writing about will be mainly about Life, Travelling, Dreams, Thoughts, Experience, Love, Future, People, Literature, Music, Art, Egypt, Austria and the list goes on... I believe that reflecting my thoughts and writing them down is an excellen...

Who Am I?

This is a lifetime “question”, I believe it’s difficult to be answered, because everyday, one learn something new about his/her Own Personality. Life, Situations, Problems we face, friends, family, Age, ect ect.. Change us. Every single thing, -even the small little things that we think, they don’t mean anything- changes us in a way or another. Lama, a dear friend of mine and a great writer who wrote an Article “Reflection Of My Thoughts”. She basically talked about her “Journey” through her eyes while looking at her self in the mirror and how she doesn’t care about what people think about her. To be honest  she gained all my respect! :) Anyway, after reading her post, I asked my self: Who Am I?   Hmm.. my Name is Nesma, I’m 20 years old, yes I’m, although I totally agree with you, I don’t look like 20 at all. I behave like most probably 15 years old. What should I say? I have a “inner child” inside me. I love to laugh, be happy and take life easy, nothing is worse it. Serio...

Complexity within Simplicity

Image
Could this be a captured moment? Or is it more like a straight-forward statement? I personally believe that it is both. You might go through many pictures, seeking beauty or a swift smile, but it does not happen often that you'd see a clear, frank picture and still remain intrigued and confused. This is a self portrait of the photographer; a young lady that speaks her mind, yet remains vaguely enigmatic and unresolved. And through this picture, she was able to express her true self that hardly anybody gets to see. Why would this be a moment captured? Well, to start with, from my point of view, or my own understanding of this picture of many words; that when you face someone, you take a quick glance of how they look like, thinking this would be enough to resemble this person in your memory. However though, it is only quarter or less from this person that you've seen, whilst the picture here shows half, which is addressed to friends and family, therefore...
