A Moment of Silence II

Image
Brussels, Belgium, Center, 10 March 2019 When everything stops for a second. You stand still. You wonder what brought you here? Was it the right choice? When you thought finally things are about to settle, when things seemed to be matching perfectly, but then in blink of seconds your entire life changes rapidly unexpectedly. Fear and anxiety of the unknown is all what keeps hunting your thoughts. You wonder in the eyes of strangers, aiming to find a clear answer. Yet you believe in God’s timing. You believe in how things work when it’s time. No matter how bad we want it to happen. It will happen in the perfect timing. You only see meters in front of you while God… God always see the end of the road. Have faith!

Where do I belong to?

So what is Identity? Who am I? What skin color I have? What believe do I follow? Does it matter where I was born? Does it matter where I live? Where I used to live? Does it matter where I come from? Does it matter, which ethnic group I come from? Does it matter if I wear the Hijab or not? Would you care to know where my roots come from? Do we actually know it? Do we actually have hold on our grade grand parents? Would you think of me differently if I was white? If I was Black? If I was a mix? If I was blond? If I had green, blue eyes? Does it really matter to you? Why would you care? I’m an Arab, North African and Mediterranean. In love with the ideology of world religions. I’m a muslim but grew up entirely in a Catholic school. In my heart lays Austria as number one and in my vines runs Egyptian blood. To these two beloved countries, I’ll always be truthfully forever thankful. But yet in search to where I belong to, while others might judge me from only my skin color or my relig...

The Clock

Everything in life happens according to our time, our clock. You may look at your friends and some may seem to be ahead or behind you, but they are not, they are living according to the pace of their clock, so be patient. You are not falling behind, its just not your time.

Breathe

I have been doing some reflections lately in my life and I came across many things that I've discovered and would like to share some of them with you.  We get stuck in labels . She is strong. He is funny. She is positive. You get my point. These labels manifest in our heads and we start believing that this is what you always need to project, this is how people see me and this is how I should always be. But this is not true. I am the strongest girl I know this month and the weakest one around the next. I have the cool sense of humor and the next day I can not get a joke.  We need to stop getting stuck in boxes. This causes us to put so much pressure on ourselves and it is unhealthy. Be whoever the hell you wake up wanting to be. No pressure. No label. Find a fixation . Find something that you can do, a car ride, a place you can sit, writing, drawing, dancing, yoga, singing in the shower. Find something that you can go to when everything else doesn't make sense (this h...

Life Cycle

Life is all about stages and steps that we take in our life. For each stage there are hundreds of other steps and mountains that has to be taken, hiked, claimed or even walked now or later. For every mountain there is a test that we have to pass in order to reach to the edge of the mountain and have a clearer view and a full picture. We are all different and that's why, some of us take these steps slower because simply they can't hike the mountain all at once. Some need to take a break in between, in order to recharge energy again. And some can take it all at one shot. But at the end of the day, we all aim for the same purpose in a way or another.

At Peace With Yourself

I think it's great how a lot of young people, in my generation, are not scared of being alone anymore. I used to dread the idea of traveling alone. I would look at people eating by themselves in restaurants and feel bad for them. As I grew older, I realized that treating yourself to a nice meal alone doesn't necessarily mean you're lonely. Packing your bags and moving to a new place doesn't mean you don't like being around people. We grew up in a society that taught us that socializing is what gives us purpose and that the more people you know, the happier you will be. I realized, however, that in order to be at peace with yourself, you must learn to enjoy your own company. When you no longer feel the need to always be among a large group of people and to fake interactions just to fit in, that is when you will truly be happy.

Recipe For a Good Life

Muhammad Ali’s story meant a lot for me - beyond the boxing he spent a lifetime preparing to meet God, and was dedicated to a path of Tassawuf, to the inward path of Love. He believed that the secret of God is revealed through the knowledge of Love. Ali strived to become a truly beautiful human being; following the Tassawuf wisdom that ‘The outer beauty of a person must merge with the inner beaut y and become one. This is the source of true beauty.’ He was most certainly such a human being, and was once asked: “What would you like people to think about you when you’re gone?”. He responded that he would like people to say: ‘He took a few cups of love. He took one table spoon of patience. One table spoon, tea-spoon of generosity. One pint of kindness. He took one quart of laughter. One pinch of concern. And then he mixed willingness with happiness. He added lots of faith. And he stirred it up well. Then he spread it over a span of a lifetime. And he served it to each and every deservi...

A year ago everything was different. I wouldn't have pictured myself like this and now that I look back, I have realized that a year can do a lot to a person.  So, in the end it is not the years in your life that count, it is the life in your years that count in order to have a life worth living. It is the pursuit of a memorable life!

I must accept the blessings of today

I need to live out all the blessings that God has given me today. Blessings cannot be saved for a rainy day. There is no bank with a safe deposit box for them. If I do not enjoy these blessings today, I lose them forever. Whatever I have done or might do in the course of my life, whether it's good or evil, has been done freely; I am a free agent. My success and my misfortunes, the bright and the dark days I have gone through, everything has proved to me that in this world, either physical or moral, good comes out of evil just as well as evil comes out of good. God knows that we are artists of life. One day He gives us a chisel, another we may receive brushes and a canvas, and still another day He gives us a pen to write. I am bound to add that the excess in too little has ever proved in me more dangerous than the excess in too much; the last may cause indigestion, but the first causes death. I know that I have lived because I have felt, and, feeling giving me the know...

Life

We invented a mountain of superfluous needs. You have to keep buying, throwing away…  It’s our lives we are squandering.  When I buy something, or when you buy it, we’re not paying with money.  We’re paying with the time from our lives we had to spend to earn that money. The difference is that you can’t buy life. Life just goes by.  And it’s terrible to waste your life, losing your freedom.  -  Wisdom from José Mujica

10 Rules of Zen ॐ

Image
I was reading a bit about Zen. Zen is an experientially finding one’s true self and the effort to identify that true self, which was found. Put very simply, Zen is the search and interpretation of one’s true self. It is no overestimation to say that that is Zen in its entirety. The purpose of Zen is, in the final analysis, the self and nothing else except the self. Having a bad day? It happens. Having your day go from good to bad because you spilled your coffee? Not okay! Don’t let an unconscious state of mind happen to you. 10 rules for staying Zen: 1. Let go of comparing 2. Let go of competing 3. Let go of judgments 4. Let go of anger 5. Let go of regrets 6. Let go of worrying 7. Let go of blame 8. Let go of guilt 9. Let go of fear 10. Laugh at least once a day ( especially if it’s about your inability to let go of any or all of the above! ) Namaste, Lady Breeze

Adultery

Image
I just finished reading “ Adultery ” by Paulo Coelho . Honestly, I can't believe this is written by the same man who wrote one of my favorite novels. Utterly shocking and incredibly disappointing. I read the entire book, because I was waiting for it to get better, but it never happened. In this story, Coelho shows the monster, that resides in us to come up for revenge. Through the life of the main character, feelings of dissatisfaction and inadequacy come to surface... if her life is so perfect, surrounded by people she love and love her, has the perfect husband and children and successful in her work... why is she so unhappy? Because, deep down, she felt there must be something else to all that sense of the perfect life she was living... Letting the monster inside her to come out, is something forbidden, horrible, and dirty. But through the monster, she returns back from the forbidden adventure as a stronger woman, a better person, a renewed soul. From my point of...

The Power of Reading

Image
I have been reading in the past three hours and half and felt I want to write and reflect down before I go to bed.  I always feel when I read; I enter a different world that is filled with diversity of knowledge. It is a very big world that doesn’t have a beginning and an end. It’s a world that doesn’t require certain things from the human being. In fact it will offer you a wide range of knowledge; starting from wisdom, to science up to philosophy and history and she is not expecting anything in return. Once you set food in this world, you will enjoy the ride, because there is always something for everyone. Once one takeoff, there is no return. One will have to go by the flow in order to enjoy the journey. It’s the journey, you will get to experience it from the protagonist, and when you land and arrive safely, you will suddenly find yourself craving for some isolating time for yourself to reflect on your last ‪ trip . Once you feel you are settled do...

Give from Your Heart

As we are going into Friday and it is  one of my favorite days of the week. This day has a very special  place in my heart for some reasons. I always feel the silence and calmness of my heart. I feel god's blessings. Today I questioned myself, what about doing a good deed on such a beautiful day? Even if it’s a  small  thing. Sometimes we see things small, but in other peoples eyes it could mean the world. One of the greatest things any one of us can do in life is to reach out and do a good deed for another human being. Whether it means offering your love and compassion, or making a charitable donation of time, energy, or money, there are many ways to bring sunshine into the lives of others. Aiming to make someone smile and succeeding will ultimately make you happier than the comparatively abstract goal of trying to make them happy. Here are few things that I could think of now; how one could do a good deed? ·   ...

History

Some people believe that without history our lives amount to nothing. At some point we all have to choose. Do we fall back on what we know or do we step forward to something new? It’s hard not to be haunted by our past. Our history is what shapes us, what guides us. Our history resurfaces time after time after time. So we have to remember, the most important history is the history we’re making today.

Lines

You need boundaries between you and the rest of the world. Other people are far too messy. It’s all about lines. Drawing lines in the sand and praying like hell nobody crosses them.  At some point you have to make a decision. Boundaries don’t keep other people out, they fence you in. Life is messy, that’s how were made. So you can waste your life drawing lines or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines that are way too dangerous to cross.  Here’s how I see it, if you are willing to take the chance and the risk, the view from the other side is spectacular. As the saying says: The grace on the other side is greener.

Faith

Lets have a flashback. Remember when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales? That fantasy and magical dreams of what your life would be like? The white dress and Prince Charming that would carry you away to the castle on a hill? You lay in bed at night. You close your eyes and you have a complete utter faith. Santa Clause, Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming…They were so close to your imagination that you even could taste them and feel how truth it could be.. logically you take it for granted, why shouldn’t you as a kid you would ask your self? All the movies, cartoons and stories that you used to watch are having a happy ending, aren’t they? But eventually the sooner or later you will face the ugly truth and you will grow up one day, you will open your eyes and the fairy tale will disappear.  Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is, it’s hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely, because most people have faith that one day, the...

Writing to you gives me company

I’m a globie girl that wants to explore as much as possible of the world and get do know more about different cultures. I was born to travel. (Will get to the travelling part later) I am from Cairo and have Turkish roots like most of Egyptians. I was born in Vienna, were I was raised and spent my teen - year’s. Vienna plays a big role in my life. If I started to talk about my love to this country, it’s a never-ending love story and I won’t finish today. - I need to finish because I still got a lot to do for today, maybe in another post -.  People who know me very well, know that I regard Egypt my country and my home, but not only because of my roots, family and friends who live there, but because I truthfully love it. There is something about Egypt and until this moment know one has figured out what is this “Something”. If you talked to any Egyptian who lived abroad especially in a not Middle Eastern country, he will understand what I’m saying. Unfortunately, Egyptians...
