Give from Your Heart

As we are going into Friday and it is one of my favorite days of the week. This day has a very special place in my heart for some reasons. I always feel the silence and calmness of my heart. I feel god's blessings.

Today I questioned myself, what about doing a good deed on such a beautiful day? Even if it’s a small thing. Sometimes we see things small, but in other peoples eyes it could mean the world.

One of the greatest things any one of us can do in life is to reach out and do a good deed for another human being. Whether it means offering your love and compassion, or making a charitable donation of time, energy, or money, there are many ways to bring sunshine into the lives of others.

Aiming to make someone smile and succeeding will ultimately make you happier than the comparatively abstract goal of trying to make them happy.

Here are few things that I could think of now; how one could do a good deed?

·      SmileA person can never doubt the power of a smile. Your mood does not have to reflect on your smile, your smile can reflect on your mood. “Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.”

·      Invite an elderly neighbor to dinner, or offer to bring him or her a home-cooked meal.

·      Give Money to Good Causes on a regular basis to places that help others.

·      Become a Volunteer; Join a group whose mission you believe in and donate your most valuable resource—time.

·      Save an Animal.

·      Support the Homeless.

·      Donate "once in a lifetime" clothing, such as bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, or even bridal gowns—many people can’t afford new formalwear for big events, so let someone else enjoy them.

·      Offer your seat on the bus or train to someone who is disabled, elderly, pregnant or who just looks tired.

·      Get in touch with an old friend, at the very least, they will be touched and honored to know you were thinking of them.

·      Help a child with reading, tutor kids in math or other schoolwork--or just spend time with a needy child. It can make all the difference in the world.

·      Give Away Stuff You Don't Need.

·      Give busy parents you know a break by offering to watch their kids for an afternoon or evening.

·      Help a Stranger.

·      Collect Litter. If you came across a piece of paper or candy wrapper on the ground, pick it up and throw it in the pin.

·      Help a Friend.

·      Help a family member.

How often do we get so caught up with the busy life that we often forget to do things that matter? 
How many times did your little brother and sister wants your help in their project or assignment? How many times did your old grandparents ask for a helping hand? 

Ask what you can do to help!
Listen.
Offer a helping hand.
Or you can simply do a nice gesture. 

Remember it is not about the thing you do and what. It is about why you do it and the meaning behind it. In the end, you won’t just end up helping someone, you will also add to yourself. It is not just “us” doing the good deed, it is about others. Because of us, many others will do it afterwards.
