Writing to you gives me company

I’m a globie girl that wants to explore as much as possible of the world and get do know more about different cultures. I was born to travel. (Will get to the travelling part later) I am from Cairo and have Turkish roots like most of Egyptians. I was born in Vienna, were I was raised and spent my teen - year’s. Vienna plays a big role in my life. If I started to talk about my love to this country, it’s a never-ending love story and I won’t finish today. - I need to finish because I still got a lot to do for today, maybe in another post -.

People who know me very well, know that I regard Egypt my country and my home, but not only because of my roots, family and friends who live there, but because I truthfully love it. There is something about Egypt and until this moment know one has figured out what is this “Something”. If you talked to any Egyptian who lived abroad especially in a not Middle Eastern country, he will understand what I’m saying. Unfortunately, Egyptians who live in Egypt don’t see that “something", and I don’t blame them. That goes back to the current political situation as well the corruption that Egypt had to go through over 30 years. However despite that lets not talk about politics now.

I have endless thirst for knowledge in Life, Travelling, Art and Music. Quoting Johann Wolfgang von Goethe one of the famous German Literature authors in 18th and 19th century. He used “Thirst” in his “Drama Faust: I”. The protagonist of this tragedy was “Dr. Heinrich Faust” he is an academic scientist. He used to have “Thirst" for knowledge. -"Er versucht mit allen Mitteln, seinen Durst nach Wissen zu stillen”. He tried every means to satisfy his thirst for knowledge, but he does not succeed in spite of all scientific studies and his excellent education. And this is from where I got this word. Goethe is one of my favorite writers in the German Literature and this brings me to say that I love reading. I still can recall my high school days when we started reading “Faust” in my German Literature class. It was from here when I started to realize my interests to German Literature.

Going back to the “Thirst” part, I always have the feeling that I want to know and understand every single thing around me and I do not think that I will feel someday full because I guess it is impossible for us as Human Being. And this is what Dr. Heinrich Faust the protagonist gone through in is his Drama. Despite the fact that he is a professor and a scientist.

Through travelling and getting in contact with so many different types of people around the world; I actually found how similar, in fact, we all are. I love to discover, read and interact with different cultures. Moreover, through travelling you give your self the chance to free your Worldview and trust me you will have a great and an amazing Personal Experience. To travel is to leave everything behind and go after your dream, your dream to broaden your knowledge to experience the inexperienced, to challenge yourself and create your own legacy.

The first word that crosses my mind when it comes to “Art” or “Music,” is "soul"I grow up with classic Music. I would be lying if I said, that I do not love it. I took it from my father, he keeps listening to classical music all the time, while reading the news paper at night before he sleeps, in the morning during breakfast, in his car, while writing and reading and most importantly he used to take me with him as a kid to attend classic concerts and ballet at the opera house. That’s why as a kid I used dance ballet at home on classical music. I used to perform as well to our guests. Yes I used to do that. I was a hyper energetic kid. :) So classic music became a daily routine at home until this day. Moreover I used to live in Vienna, which is the city of classic music. If you read about Austrian History, you would know that Mozart is Austrian and many other famous classic composers. Moreover I play the Piano. And it’s one of the best things that happened in my life. Leaving your fingers to the dance of movement on the keys and letting it generate the sound of your soul. The soul of the pianist, he addresses his feelings and emotions, which reflects to the piece he is playing to. And this is the difference between all pianists or musicians or artists. It’s their emotions and feelings that control them. I believe that Music is the heart of our Soul. It is like the food that feeds our souls with, through music you start dreaming and you take a trip into the past and future to discover the sweetness of your life.

Art is what defines in our lives. It has a magic influence on anyone witnessing it. Our eyes see art in a flourishing flower, in an old song, in a painting of a silent ocean etc. etc. I love Photography. It is not just taking a picture of someone you love or just nature. Photography helps people “us” to see the beauty of our world and capturing beautiful moments. And as a graphic designer, it’s the way that you express your self in visual language.

I have learned to believe only what I see
and not what I hear from others.
I believe that everything happens for a reason.
And I believe to follow my dreams!

I have no idea where this post is going to, I’m just writing my thoughts down and trying to stick to my promise to blog at least once a week.

Dear readers, I hope you have a better overview of who I’m now. This is why I reach out to you. Whoever you are and wherever you are in this world. Writing to you gives me company.

Enjoy the beauty of your day.

Adieu.
